Gold Polka Dot Bookcase

Where has the time gone! I cannot believe it has been months since my last post. I am so sorry, summer got the best of me and we have been busy! But I am back and don't worry this piece is worth the wait!

I just finished up this bookcase and it has been added to my favorites list! I am sorry I don't have a before picture, but it was rough! It was a light greenish brown color and it was peeling off all over the place. I sanded it all down using a 220 grit and then started spraying away! I used a white called "North Beach" (this was found in the clearance paint section it was a wrong match for someone else, $9 was all I paid for the whole gallon.) The back of the shelves is painted in "Tidewater," it is the perfect color for a beautiful and light beach blue. I used gold spray paint and then gold vinyl for the rest! Round Traditional End Table

Okay this table is so fabulous! I love how unique it is, I have not seen anything like it! I used my new favorite paint, Sweet Pickins Milk Paint. I painted it white with an accent of gray on the table top. It has an upper and lower shelf for plenty of storage space for your decor items and measures 26 inches tall and 28 inches in diameter. I also used the funnest new technique to add a little glazing, it is called Aging Dust and I will post about this later in the week! White Distressed 4 Drawer Dresser

I just finished this amazing dresser! I was hoping it would be a great fit in my master bedroom but I am afraid I need to find something a little bigger. It has been painted white,  distressed pretty heavily and I also sprayed with a few coats of protective poly. The hardware has all been updated to oil rubbed bronze, it is solid wood and sturdy, it measures 40 inches tall, 45 inches wide, and 19 inches deep.

Sweetie Jane Octagon Coffee Table

I am absolutely in love with this unique octagon coffee table! This is complete and solid wood, it has been painted in white and sweetie jane colors and distressed a lot to give it the beautiful unique look! It has also sprayed with a strong protective coat of poly. It measures 15 inches tall and 37 inches in diameter.

Antique Metal Trunk Makeover

I am beyond excited about this antique trunk transformation! Not only is it such a unique and unusual find, the transformation with a little paint is unbelievable. This by far has been one of the funnest projects, I am so excited to share it with you!

 Here is the trunk before picture. It is metal and wood with some leather straps still attached. I love the worn metal and wood, it gives this trunk a very unique character!

Now for the fun part, prepping, painting, sanding.... all the fun stuff!

I stumbled upon a new paint, at least new to me, and this is my first project using it. It is Sweet Pickin's Milk Paint. Which can be purchased through Etsy here!

Milk paint has been around for years, this is just my first time trying it out. It is made out of milk protein and is a completely green paint, 100% VOC free. It comes in powder form that you mix yourself in water. My favorite part about milk paint is the time I cut down with prepping. There is not as much prep time as with Latex or Lacquer paint. Now with that being said, Milk paint is very unpredictable and rarely will you get the same look on furniture pieces. It makes for some unique and fabulous furniture pieces if you ask me!

I started out by spraying the entire trunk with Shellac, this acts as a bond for the milk paint! Once that is dry it is time for paint. I just buy the dollar store bristle brushes to use with milk paint, I think being able to see some brush marks just add to the antique look! I used the 2 colors Creamy and Sunflower for this trunk! What do you think???

Custom Order | Brown Antique Desk

This desk is awesome, the legs are so unique! It is very old and has a lot of chipping and spills everywhere (nothing my trusty sander couldn't handle!) It was brown before but just needed a little love to make it look new. I sanded it all down and then painted with a dark brown paint. What do you think, aren't the legs to die for?
